[Soshi Taira]

Taira chuckled. "Most rokugani likely think of it like they would a house, but a yurt is not a wooden home."

With a soft sigh, he added, "I know how it feels... my older brothers and sisters were... very involved in the night activities when they were in the city. Part of why my parents sent them to the country for the rest of their education."

[Shinjo Liu Yue]

"I cannot imagine that the rumors are good for their standings with other suitors." Yue shrugged. "My sister wants to marry her lover. That cannot be a possibility for some of the others."

I'm a bit of a hypocrite, aren't I? I didn't get caught though...

Yue sighed. "What my sister does in 'privacy' is not my concern. I only wish she was more careful."

[Soshi Taira]

"Of course, though I doubt Bayushi-san was overly worried about rumors, and I suspect that he won't be dissuaded by them."

A slow breath. "It may impact the standings, and that may shake it all up. I fear there will be many heartbreaks, if things continue as they are."

[Shinjo Liu Yue]

"I imagine there is much that we are not aware of." Yue let out a small chuckle. "It may be uncouth to say so but I am beginning to wonder if a miai is a good concept. It seems that it opens up avenues to Desire."

She smirked. "However, I was able to meet you, Taira-dono."

[Soshi Taira]

"Hai... and it is often more carefully chaperoned."

Taira sighed.

"It is often a playground for Benten, and so it is usually reserved for moments when a larger union is sought, many marriages, rather than individual matches. They are not as common as all that."

[Shinjo Liu Yue]

"The return of the Unicorn is a momentous event," she mused. She turned her head over to him. "Would we be chaperoned at this hill if we were at another miai?"

[Soshi Taira]

"We would probably, or noted that we had traveled out here... it would be possible to be sneaky, but why bother?"

He sighed. "You could just bring a chaperone, to sit a little distance away and ensure we don't get caught up in youthful abandon."

[Shinjo Liu Yue]

Yue nodded. "My sister brought me as a chaperone before and her suitor brought one of his own." She looked back to the moon and let out a small giggle. "What is a chaperone supposed to do if the young couple starts to give in to Desire? Are they to run in and shout at them to stop?"

[Soshi Taira]

"Usually they just remind the couple that they are sitting right there. It usually makes them uncomfortable enough to make it stop."

A soft sigh.

"It would be strange if it didn't."

[Shinjo Liu Yue]

She let out a soft laugh. "It appears that some samurai present are shameless, Taira-dono. However, you are correct. It would be very strange if they did not relent."

[Soshi Taira]

"Hai."

A dry grin. "If they didn't I doubt they'd be allowed to marry, instead being sent home in shame. If they are able to feel shame, that is."

[Shinjo Liu Yue]

The Shinjo nodded. "Sou desu ka." She let out a soft chuckle. "I imagine that there are many surprises waiting for me in the Empire."

[Soshi Taira]

"Hai, though I admit, your kin have brought many surprises with you, and I am certain more await, before all is said and done."

Taira rolled on to his side, surveying her, and added, "You've certainly been a surprise, though a pleasant one, without question."

[Shinjo Liu Yue]

"I hope kumis have been good to you," she said with a small laugh. "Sake has been a nice alternative."

She still stayed on her back though her head was turned to him. "I am certainly different, Taira-dono," she said with a slight blush on her cheeks. "You are different from the other Scorpion I have met. You do not carry with you a mysterious aura that is so common with the others." Her lips curled to a smile. "That is what I believe."

[Soshi Taira]

"No mystery? My clan will find me a real disappointment..." His expression was still gentle. "Kumis has been... odd. The flavor is strong, even though the impact is less, the reverse of sake, really. I am still trying to get used to it, I'm not used to a such a... flavorful... drink. Most Rokugani drinks are just more restrained."
