The stands are full of samurai who have gathered to watch and listen to the competitors as they declare their love.

Mizuki has no intention to sing to someone she loved. She's made too much of a mess of things. Though she considered singing to Moto Silvia. Then again, knowing her luck, she'd be drawn into another love triangle involving Silvia and whoever her real self is. Nope. For once, this Yogo has had enough for love.

Tsukimi found a tatami mat to sit upon. With her wicker umbrella and her smoking pipe, she sat in deep contemplation, and listened to the songs.

Being so not a singer, Akil had made his way to the observation area, watching the various songs mostly with a polite smile.

And of course a burning red face when Fukawa sang to him.

After her performance, feeling a little dazed, Amaya joins the stands to view the other singers. Her throat is dry, she looks about and wonders if anyone brought anything to drink.

Visibly shaken from her performance, Mei takes to the crowd to find Kemuri. Not seeing him present as of yet, she sighs and takes a seat.

Huh! Didn't suck! Baatar thought to himself, beaming proudly as he stepped out of the dueling circle and joined the spectators.

Samai wobbled to the side, bowing to everyone present. Was I.... good?

The Marta finally made his way to join the other observers, offering bows and greetings as he passed each. Once he reached Mei, he sat down.

"I enjoyed that Miya-sama, thank you."

Mei stands quickly as Kemuri approaches.

"Thank you, Shinjo-san. Your song was quite well received as well. Though I must say, this is different than the customs of the Empire."

She steps a little closer.

"Usually, in public, one does not proclaim any feelings toward another unless they are together."

"So I have been told." he nodded. "The Unicorn and the Moto in particular are not quite so subtle. I was still surprised by this, however. Such displays are not unheard of, but I wouldn't think of them as common enough for this."

"I have heard that about a few of the events that this Miai has had. It seems the organizers have picked things that even the Unicorn, while familiar with, are not experts at either. It leaves plenty of room for those of us outside your clan to excel in I suppose."

Mei stands a little closer to Kemuri, though not uncomfortably so.

"I wonder who everyone will sing to. Have you any guesses?"

"A few." he nodded. "A couple of the songs were what I expected. Others, I think may be more complicated to predict. It will be very interesting to see certain choices. I suspect some will be difficult to make. Perhaps that is what this was a test of."

"That is an interesting way to test someone, I suppose. It does take courage to stand in front of all and profess such a thing."

She gives a half smile before the voice of a female catches her attention. She turns her head to look at the performance area and sees Liu Yue.

"Um."

Mei blinks.

"Shinjo-san."

Mei blinks again, her face somewhat stunned.

"Is...Is it..."

Mei takes a breath.

"Is it common for women to love women in the Unicorn?"

The young Shinjo woman came back to the stands. She was unsure if people knew who she was singing to, even if it was actually obvious to anyone listening. For the moment, she was content with not approaching anyone in particular.
