Mizuki came to the shrine to say her prayers to the Fortunes. She was.... disappointed to discover a shrine to Kakita. She steels herself and then begins her prayers.

Fukawa came to the shrine to say her prayers. She was....happy to fine a shrine to Kakita. Given how weird things were around this 'village' she had half-dreaded that someone would have erected a shrine to a Sparrow of some other nonsense.
There did seem to be a Scorpion of some sort in the shrine. Fukawa would say her prayers, and if the Scorpion was still around, perhaps there would be conversation between the two. Courtesy was owed, after all, even to Scorpions.

After the opening ceremony and the speech given by the governor, Hotaru was in the mood to pray. Now that things were set off officially, it seemed only right to do the same with the spirits, the Fortunes and Ancestors. They would determine the course the miai took and whether or not she would succeed here. As she made her way to the shrine, she was slightly....disappointed to discover that a Yogo found it before her.
However, kinsmen were kinsmen, even cursed ones. This one, in particular, had an obvious regal bearing which made her triple more important than herself. She took quiet steps forward to not disturb the kuge, praying alongside her to see that the Yogo's wishes are heard.
There was a Crane too, of course, fitting for the shrine itself. She would offer the same courtesy to her.

Amaya had spent some time at the Shrine earlier that day and was unsurprised to find others there ahead of her, despite having only stopped at her yurt for a moment on her way from the Opening Ceremony. She unrolled the half-tatami and lay it on the ground, she arranged her kimono around her as she settled, feet tucked neatly under her small frame. Bowing her head, she silently composes a prayer. If she ever needed luck, then this ma-ai was it.

After finishing her prayers, she backs out as to not disturb anyone. Mizuki decides to stay in case the others wish to speak.

Almost as if she had been waiting and pretending to pray for appearances, the Doji's prayers finish not long after the Yogo's. She too removes herself from those still engaged in prayer...and comes back to the Yogo.
"Yogo-sama." she says, offering a respectful bow, appropriate for someone who is a high ranking member of a cursed family of a great clan (The old 42c they called it in training). "I am Doji Fukawa. Have you had rice today?"

Mizuki bows to the Crane. "I have and hope you have as well. This one is Yogo Mizuki. A pleasure."

Fukawa nods.
"I have, thank you for asking." she replies in turn.
She gestures towards the arch with her fan.
"Impressive is it not, in both it's age and simplicity?" she offers, lacking much in the general vicinity to discuss save the other supplicants.

"Hai. It has lasted all this time. It says something about the early artisans of the Empire. Though I admit, art has never been my specialty."

A small shrug from the small Doji.
"There's more than one way to bring glory and honor to one's name." she admits. "Personally, I tend to specialize in singing. Whether or not that will impress our hosts is yet to be seen."

"I'm sure it will. The Crane are masters of the arts." A small pause. "Did you study with the Kakita?"

Amaya rises, primly shakes out the half-tatami, rolling it up again. She approaches the pair of women with some trepidation, offing the most graceful bow she can muster. She seems a little dazzled by the waifish Crane with the beautiful white hair. She does not speak, but hovers uncertainly.

Fukawa nods a bit.
"Not as one of the artisans, but a courtier needs to know more to get through court than how to talk about treaties." she admits.
There is but the briefest pause as the Crane refrains from asking the Yogo about it's training.
"Even if not an artist yourself, is there perhaps a form of the arts that Yogo-sama enjoys more than others?" she asks.
And then came the floating Unicorn cavalry charge!
Fukawa offered a polite bow.
"Unicorn-san. I am Doji Fukawa, a pleasure to meet you. This is the esteemed Yogo Mizuki if you have not met already. Have you had rice?"

Rice? The question seems strange, but she
suddenly remembers, "I have, and thank you." She pauses, "it is my honour Doji-Sama, Yogo-Sama. I am--" slips out again before she can correct herself. If she had performed this poorly in her
gempukku she surely would have been sent back for another four years of training. "--Ide Amaya, on behalf of my Clan and my family, we welcome you."

Although it doesn't show, Mizuki relaxes a little knowing that the Doji is a courtier and not an artisan.
"Thank you, Ide-san. Your Clan and family has been most generous. I look forward to the feast tonight." Mizuki would regret these words.
