[Matsu Kogo]

"Emperor's bodyguard? That is a great duty. From what I have learned about the Lion, I am surprised that the position is not filled by a Matsu! Are there other Champions?"

Kogo's face shows a little more of her emotion but she hides it in the dark. "Matsu fought with all the others in the first tournament for the Emerald Championship. But she was defeated in the last match by Kakita-sama. There are many stories of their battle and the fallout thereafter." She pauses and takes a breath. "There is the Jade Champion and the Topaz Champion. They all have different roles and specialities."

[Soshi Yuuru]

Yuuru saw the Otaku wave and nodded his head. He began to collect some of his things to walk over so no one thought him rude.

[Otaku Chi-Pu]

"Are all Champions determined by tournaments? And what fallout?"

Chi-Pu bows to Yuuru when he gets close enough.

"Hello, I am Otaku Chi-Pu, and this is Matsu Kogo"

Kogo takes a few moments to choose her words. "Many are. And as in many situations, after a fight where one has lost and another one, sometimes there are hard feelings." Kogo bows to the approaching Scorpion. "Konbanwa."

[Soshi Yuuru]

"Good evening. I'm Soshi Yu..." Yuuru spots Kogo's warcat near by. "...ru."

Kogo notes Soshi-san's pause and clicks her fingers to move Noburu further away from him. "This one is Noburu. She is quite friendly, if somewhat mischevious at times."

[Otaku Chi-Pu]

Paying no mind to the unease of Yuuru, Chi-Pu continues with her questions.

"Hard feelings? Can you explain? This is not something common for the Unicorn"

She pauses. Now there are more witnesses. She wishes Otaku Chi-pu had picked a better topic, but honesty is part of being a samurai. "The family of Kakita, descended from the first Emerald Champion and the family of Matsu, who was the last contender for the title, have hard feelings that run back to the first Championships. It leads to complications and insults being exchanged at times." She looks over at Soshi-sama. "Perhaps, as a less involved party, Soshi-sama might have a less colored view of the matter."

Chi-Pu nods and looks to the Scorpion.

Yuuru obviously is somewhat skeptical about that comment, "I'm sure... I've dealt with big cats before. Not exactly the nicest or most reliable creatures all the time. Got some scars across my chest to prove it."

He then smiled slightly to the two of them, "My name is Soshi Yuuru. It's a pleasure to meet you both."

Kogo's eyes widen and she seizes gratefully on the topic. "You have dealt with other big cats? As in wild or tamed? And where?"

"Wild tigers in the Shinomen." Yuuru replied.

[Matsu Kogo]

Kogo's eyes widen. "I understand your hesistation. Wild beasts are nothing to be trifled with. Our cats are only biddable in their way after years of breeding and training that starts from birth." She clicks her fingers and has Noburu move to her back., running fingers through her fur as she goes past. "She will not harm you without a command from me or an attack from you. Her training on that is absolute."

He chuckled, "That may be so... but I think I'll keep my distance if I can. Have had enough big cat bites in my life."

He smiled, "I'm sorry, what were we talking about again?"

[Matsu Kogo]

She nods. "It is not unwise to respect the abilities of the cats."
