Dark Edge Village

There were questions that needed to be answered and even though Suteichi was happy where he was he needed to understand why, what, and how.

A scratch at Mizuki's door came in the early night. He didn't care if she was asleep.

Zip begins barking. Mizuki wakes up. Expecting someone else, she hastily prepares. When she opens the door, she is rather surprised. "Sutiechi-kun." She draws her kimono tighter. "I'm sorry. I wasn't expecting... you. Please give me a moment."

After dressing up a little more, she answers the door again. "Please come in." She offers him a seat to sit down.

Suteichi entered and removed his mask. He sat down and looked in disbelief.

"Expecting a lady at the hour of the wolf, Mizuki-chan? I am so sorry to disappoint." he snapped quietly.

Mizuki was silent. She knew if she responded, she would say something she regretted.

"Pincer have your tongue?! You told me it was a Shinjo man... Not my potential sister. Why?! Why do you do this?!! What have I done to constantly earn this...THIS from you?! You contiue to break me. Is this some sick pleasure of yours?!"

"And what was I supposed to say? I slept with your future sister-in-law? I lied because I didn't want to hurt you further." She looks down. "She knows nothing about you if that helps."

"So. I was purely something to do then. You my sempai exercising your senority over to get a cheap thrill. Perhaps I should have gotten paid for it like that foolish woman who gave birth to me!"

"No! I meant, I didn't tell her because I didn't want Liu Fei to find out about us. If you wish it, I can tell her tomorrow. I'm sure she would love to find out you were my bed shortly before hers."

Mizuki shakes her head. "I loved you. I still do." Without a hint of hypocrisy, she continues. "Stop living in your past. You can't change who your parents are. Stop dwelling on it."

Suteichi composed himself.

"That is news I rather not... there is enough going on that I do not need my relationship ruined with her... or you. "

Suteichi walked to her and reached for her but hesitated and drew back.

"I should be with her right now... I came here for answers... I am devoted to Liu Fei. And I..." he stepped back scratching the back of his head.

"Did you start a rumor about me and other women? Did you?! Don't lie to me. Tell me you are not trying to hurt me and Liu Fei."

Mizuki gives a small laugh. "Why would I put myself in the rumor? Besides, I wronged you. You are the one that should be spreading rumors about me. Thank you for not doing that." She gives a small bow.

"Contrary to popular belief, I do have a measure of mercy." Suteichi walked back to her and held her hand. "Especially for you... Benten blessed me with you for a reason. Benten now blesses me with Liu Fei for a lifetime if she is even more benevolent to me." he held her hand to his face then let go.

"Someone out there is casting shade on me and mine. I want them found. I want them dealt with. They hurt me, they hurt Liu Fei, and they hurt you. I'm not going to be forgiving of that."

Mizuki nods. "Of course. Someone either for forgot or never knew you don't fuck with the Scorpion. Let's remind them. Do you know who? Or have some suspicions?"

"I have a couple of suspects...."

Mizuki leans in. After all, never know if the walls have ears. Probably not. They are Unicorn. But she appreciated Sutiechi's paranoia.

Suteichi leaned in and whispered into her ear the names of his suspects. Then stepped back and gave Mizuki a nod.
