Dark Edge Village

The scratch came at Mizuki's door. Suteichi awaited to be let in.

Mizuki answers the door and bows. "Suteichi-kun, please come in. Breakfast is ready." She invites him to sit where a simple breakfast is prepared with something the Unicorn call 'bacon.'

"Domo, Yogo-sempai." Suteichi replied and bow deeply to her. He looked at the breakfast spread before him and noticed the weird looking meat at the table.

"Yogo-sempai, my respect for you is endless as is my loyalty to you. Must we indulge in the eating of...what is that?!"

Mizuki gives a little laugh. "No. Of course not. I asked the Unicorn servants to bring me breakfast, and this is what they brought."

She shrugs. "At least, I told them none of that horrible milk and cheese drink. I swear, these Ide seem friendly, but are just sadistic as our senseis."

"Humph. Ide." he said with a mild disdain. He removed his mask before his sempai and sat it down beside him. "They most certainly can be...interesting."

Mizuki wasn't wearing a mask. She eats some rice. "Oh. How did the meeting with Ide Amaya go?"

"It went well. I gather that she is interested in the idea of me but not me. There was conversation had even a song. She is a most talented singer, a warm-hearted individual. Something was setup for tomorrow evening after the musical and dance event. I somehow get the feeling that...I will say that it went better than Liu Fei. Overall, I am not writing my mother and father about them." Suteichi took a piece of the meat product called bacon and tried it.

"Ok... why didn't they serve this instead of that blasted cheese?!"

"I understand. I met her before. She seemed nice enough, but I didn't know if she would be interesting to you." And if she joined the Clan, she would be devoured alive.

"Are they still in your consideration? Or have you decided either is no longer in the running?" Seeing Suteichi's bravery, she tries the bacon.

"Sometimes, I think the kami for my status."

"Mizuki-sama, I really do not know. This is all...foreign. I understand that I must do my duty and that I will. I am loyal to family and clan. Of all the games in court, court-ing, is by far most irritating."

Mizuki laughs. "I understand. I think things have gone well with Akil, but... I really don't want to have to do that again. I know I should, but damn..."

"He seems good for you. If I may be so blunt Yogo-sempai; I have always thought that your beauty and talents alone are too good for any would-be-suitor."

Mizuki gives a small blush and shakes her head. "You have always given me too much credit." She regains her composure. "But I'm glad you think well of him. Your opinion means a lot to me. Honestly, I consider it more important than my own."

"Your opinion and favor of me is most important as well Yogo-sempai. Are there any other suitors of interest to you?"

"Unfortunately, I haven't really met any other Unicorn men. I plan on changing that today. Maybe I'll see if I can find an Iuchi."

"Might I perhaps recommend Iuchi Dong-Ha?" Suteichi said and smacked his tongue like he had a nasty taste in his mouth. "Gaijin names. The Iuchi I speak is one who I met yesterday with the Ide. He seems like a good man."
