Dark Edge Village

Bayushi Suteichi walked through the Administative Center and stopped at a particular piece of art. He spent some time observing it. It was actually calming to him.

There still wasn't much to see in the village, but in a little over a day, Fukawa and Takahiro and hopeful Akil would be heading off towards the lands of the Crane, lands of limitless beauty.

Until then, Fukawa was determined to have as many conversation as she could, There wouldn't be talk like this until Winter Court, after all.

Cruising through the center, she notices the Scorpion studying someting hung to the wall.

"Good evening, Bayushi-san, I hope the day finds you well." she offers.

Takahiro, for his part, advanced at, and sniffed the Scorpion.

Suteichi turned with his faint smile on his face and bowed deeply to the Crane.

"Well, I am honored to be in the presence of the darling of the Miai." he greeted. "And I see she has a friend. The fortunes favor you Doji-sama."

Fukawa dips her head a bit.

"They have been favoring me, haven't they. I've been praying and honoring the shrine, but I may well need to go on a temple walk at home to offer proper thanks."

Takahiro headbutted the Scorpion's legs, wanting a head scratch.

Suteichi noticed the dog and scratched his head.

"Friendly one. Well... I was hoping to get something of art and came upon this one painting of a field. It's nice to look at art sometimes. I am sure you would agree."

Fukawa dipped her head.

"I could find you some Crane who dislike art, but given part of what the Unicorn recognized me for was talent at poetry, and song, I am most likely not one of them." she offers, amused.

Takahiro took the head scratch, and returned it with a hand lick, before wandering back to Fukawa.

"Of course. There are surprises. You don't mind my company do you?"

"Not at all, Bayushi-san. The Unicorn have been quite the exotic company, but that doesn't mean one doesn't also long for the familiar. Even if it's the legendary predictable unpredictability of the Scorpion." she offers, lightly.

Suteichi chuckled slightly.

"You absolutely fascinate me Doji-sama. I was almost flattered. I would hate for such compliments to be lost on me and not your...chosen." Suteichi smiled faintly then reached into his sleeve. "May interest you in some manju?" he offered.

The idea of taking candy from Scorpions was amusing. But as Fukawa hadn't pissed off the Scorpion clan to best of her knowledge, the chances of it being blatantly poisoned were pretty low.

"I'd be happy to share both candy, words, and art with you, Bayushi-san." she accepts. "Hmmm, speaking of chosen, have you figured out who will be turning in their purple kimono for a mask of red and black?"

"Well... I still have my pick though I must be cautious. I would not want to be linked to any scandalous talk." he replied with a slight implied look.

"Such talk has a limited amount of time to be scandalous, Bayushi-san." she reminds him. "In a couple of days, it will be old news."

"I would very much hope so. Would not want to accuse anyone of bearing false witness.... how is the daifuku?"

Fukawa nods.

"Quite good." she replies. "Have you met Doji Ameka? She has devoted herself to the construction of edible masterpieces. The results leave one stunned with what she can accomplish."

"Is that right? I shall have to meet her." He looked at the painting again. "You know Doji-sama, when was the last you had a good game of sadane?"
