A Nice Night to Horse Watch (Day 2, LE)

[Shinjo Akil]

The horse did catch the apple in his eye, which caused him to start moving towards Yuki. A click of Akil's tongue held Setem back for the moment. "Yes," he nodded, "I think that will calm him significantly." He stepped aside to let Yuki offer the fruit, keeping hold of the horse's reins just in case.

[Asako Yuki]

Yuki had, with some forethought, split the apple into parts before coming to the stables, and so presented on the flat of her hand one quarter of the apple for Setem to take.

[Shinjo Akil]

Setem leaned down and ate the apple right off her hand. This wasn't exactly the first time he's eaten off someone's hand, so fortunately for Yuki it appeared the risk of her hand being eaten off accidentally was reasonably minimal.

[Togashi Udo]

Watching, Udo asks, "how long have you been with Setem?"

[Shinjo Akil]

"Since I could ride," he answered, "he and I have been together through thick and thin."

[Asako Yuki]

The woman giggled some as the horse's whiskers brushed her hand. "He seems quite gentle." She looked at the horse's thick mane and her eyes lit up with an idea. "Do you ever braid the horse's hair?"

[Shinjo Akil]

"I have tried occasionally," he stared deadpan at the horse, "but he barely likes me to brush his hair, spoiled boy that he is."

[Asako Yuki]

Yuki frowned slightly, scratching at the horse's cheek. "That's a shame. With so much hair I'm sure you could do something spectacular. Maybe a woman's touch could convince him, neh?" She smiled at the horse, though she didn't have a way with animals the way some did.

[Shinjo Akil]

The horse loudly snorted in reply, and Akil chuckled. "Perhaps with time. Certainly not tonight though. He is still mad that he did not get to run like he usually gets to."

[Asako Yuki]

"He might see better too." The woman said with a smile, then looked up. "I'm certain he will get over it when you take him out tomorrow, neh?"

[Shinjo Akil]

"Oh probably," he smirked, "but alas, today I am destined to have an inconsolable mess of a horse."

[Asako Yuki]

Yuki laughed a bit. "Not true at all, Shinjo-san." She remarked as she surreptitiously slipped another quarter apple out from under her sleeves and held it for the horse to eat, just out of sight of his master. Or at least she hoped so.

[Togashi Udo]

"Excuse me," Udo bows to each of them. "I am going to keep looking at the stables. Enjoy your afternoon."

[Shinjo Akil]

Akil bowed politely to the Togashi, using the opportunity to conveniently 'not notice' the Asako spoiling his horse more.

The horse did seem notably calmer after apple the second.

[Asako Yuki]

Yuki turned and bowed to the Togashi. "It was nice to meet you, Togashi-san." She called after him, frowning slightly at his departure. She then turned back to Akil. "So, what has Shinjo-san thought of the miai so far? I imagine that it is in many ways very different from what you are used to?"
